Our speaker for the Annual Meeting

We are pleased to have LRSD Superintendent Baker Kurrus as our guest at our Annual Meeting. Mr. Kurrus was recently appointed to lead the district after it was taken over by the State Board of Education.

Mr. Kurrus is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Arkansas, and re-ceived his Juris Doctorate from Harvard University. Mr. Baker has been a practic-ing attorney and businessman in Little Rock for over 30 years. He served on the Little Rock School Board from 1998-2010. He was the recipient of ViPs’ Jane Mendel Award in 1996.

In addition to his role as a Little Rock School Board member, he was council attor-ney and president of the Quapaw Area Council Inc. of the Boy Scouts of America and is currently on the board of directors for CHI St. Vincent.

Citizens to Improve I-30 Crossing announced that Norman Marshall, president of Smart Mobility, Inc., will
give a presentation at 6 p.m. tonight at First United Methodist Church, 8th and Center streets. The public is invited
Marshall has analyzed the Highway Department's approach to planning for the project.
